Meet Lulu Agan

Lulu Agan has spent over two decades guiding women back to themselves—to their truth, their inner knowing, and lives that feel aligned and deeply their own. As the owner of SwellWomen, Lulu brings together the ocean, yoga, adventure, and transformational healing and coaching to create immersive retreats and virtual experiences where women reconnect, restore, and remember who they are.

The Path to Wellness

A former globe-trotting corporate executive, entrepreneur, and private chef, Lulu brings a rich tapestry of worldly experience to her work. As a certified yoga teacher, Reiki Master, and KAP Facilitator, she blends deep wisdom with playful spirit, creating spaces where women can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and step back into their lives with more presence and trust.
To Lulu, the ocean teaches surrender, resilience, and pure presence—while yoga and energy work invite a return to balance and deep self-connection. She believes that when we reconnect with ourselves, life becomes richer, more vibrant, and deeply our own.

Q&A with Lulu Agan

Behind the Retreats: Lulu's Story & Expertise
Who inspired you when you first started on this journey?

I wouldn’t say it was a who—it was a what.

My very first yoga class was the first time in my life that I truly slowed down enough to connect to my breath and my body. It felt like I had finally landed home. Something ancient and familiar awakened in my soul.

That yoga practice opened the door to travel, which eventually led me to my first surf experience on Maui. The combination of yoga and surfing became a powerful catalyst for change—one grounding me inward, the other teaching me how to trust, surrender, and ride the waves of life. Together, they changed everything.

What were three of your favorite books that helped you get clear on your path?

I’ve always been deeply curious about spirituality and personal development. In my 20s, I stumbled upon The Four Agreements and You Can Heal Your Life, and both were absolute game-changers. They planted the seeds of self-awareness, responsibility, and compassion.

Much later, in my early 50s, Choose Again brought everything full circle. It helped me deeply understand that our triggers aren’t problems—they’re invitations. Signposts showing us exactly what’s ready to be healed. It felt like the missing piece of my healing journey.

What were some of the signs or challenges that first brought you to this aspect of your life’s work?

My healing journey began when I was 27, and while I don’t believe healing ever truly ends, the discoveries I’ve made—and the daily rituals I now live by—have allowed me to love and accept myself in a way I never thought possible.

That self-acceptance has changed how I show up in the world. Not perfectly—but authentically. And that’s what I want for other women. To know themselves beneath the masks, the fear, and the limiting beliefs… so they can consciously create lives that feel expansive, aligned, and deeply their own.

What are some ways you manage work life balance?

My morning and evening rituals are non-negotiable. They are essential to my vitality, my creativity, and my capacity to hold space for women—whether on retreat or in virtual containers.

I also live by clear boundaries—or as I prefer to call them, promises. Promises that my health, nervous system, and joy are just as important as growing a successful business. When I honor that, everything flows more sustainably.

Where do you live now and is this your dream location and why?

I’ve been living my dream life for as long as I can remember. After years as a global nomad, my partner and I now live part-time in Bend, Oregon, Canggu, Bali, and spend time exploring in our camper van.

This blend gives me exactly what I crave—mountains, ocean, freedom, and wonder. It’s a lifestyle that supports both my work and my well-being.

How have your travels impacted and inspired your life and work?

Travel is one of my greatest passions. Immersing myself in different cultures and ways of living has expanded my perspective and softened my heart.

It’s also what inspired me to create experiences where women can explore the world and themselves—together. Travel has taught me that transformation often happens when we step outside our familiar rhythms and allow ourselves to be changed by place, people, and presence.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Surfing, yoga, walking or hiking in nature, bike riding, and cooking nourishing meals are some of my favorite ways to reconnect with myself, loved ones, and life.

Where did you spend most of your childhood?

I grew up in Upstate New York, near Rochester and Buffalo—a place that taught me resilience, simplicity, and the beauty of seasons long before I understood how much I’d crave the sun and the sea.

Are you involved with any local or online communities that inspire or support you personally or in your work?

Community is at the heart of everything I do. I’m deeply inspired by the women I’m surrounded by—both in my retreats and within the online spaces I’ve created. These communities remind me daily that healing happens faster, deeper, and more joyfully when we don’t do it alone.

What are your morning practices and routines that set you up to win every day?

My non-negotiables are meditation, movement, and breathwork—followed by a nourishing, yummy breakfast. I love slow mornings. They ground me, regulate my nervous system, and set the tone for a productive, inspired day.

What are you passionate about that most people don’t know?

I love to geek out about the mind–body–soul connection and the role energy plays in healing. I’ve personally experienced—and witnessed—how different energy healing modalities can help the body feel safe, the heart soften, and the soul come back online, allowing us to be who we truly are.

Open Question: What else would you like your readers or potential retreat participants to know about you?

I don’t believe in quick fixes or surface-level transformation. Everything I offer comes from lived experience, deep listening, and a devotion to truth.

If you join me on a retreat or in any of my virtual spaces, you won’t be asked to become someone new—you’ll be guided back to remember who you’ve always been. My intention is to create sacred environments where women feel safe enough to soften, brave enough to honor their truth, and supported enough to choose themselves again and again.

What a fantastically organized Mexico trip. This company took a lot of time and effort before the trip to make sure we were prepared for activities and it made such a difference. From transportation to accommodation everything was super. I thought this retreat was an awesome value. The excursions were fun and each day was well thought out. The instructors Desi and Natalya were fabulous and fun to be around. I highly recommend this company.

From start to finish this was an amazing experience! The Zoetry Casa Del Mar Los Cabos provided a beautiful backdrop for this retreat with a beautiful suite, gorgeous views, good food and great amenities. I made new friends along the way and found our sessions inspiring and transformative. What could be better than yoga sessions looking out at the Pacific Ocean! Thank you for this amazing opportunity Desi and Dr. Natiya. I left feeling relaxed and centered and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this retreat.
